"Se7en" directed by David Fincher
Sets up the film to be a thriller/horror,
The title sequence is quite creepy, I think this sequence is quiet effective as it hooks the audience in, it build suspense. The writing looks like real handwriting but scratchy and creepy, this also set the film up to be creepy. Also the music adds the to mood of the film.
"The Shining" directed by Stanley Kubrick
If this opening scene was on mute, you wouldn't know this is a "scary" film, you just see a landscape with a single car, it's remote. It's got montage editing as it's such a long journey that if they showed all of it would take most of the film. The titling is simplistic and the colour is bright which stands out from the background. This is different to the titling in "Se7en" which is much more "high-tech" compared to "The Shining"
"Taxi Driver" directed by Martin Scorcese
The titles are much faster in this sequence compared to the others, throughout the titles it keeps cutting to focus on Robert De Niro's eyes with a red tint.
The music keeps building until it hits the crescendo when the title "Taxi Driver" comes onto the screen.
